Meet Me Downtown 5K
There's something exhilarating about getting to go where you're normally not allowed, which is why urban runs down normally busy streets can be so much fun. Of course by the time the Meet Me Downtown race started, it was 6:30 p.m., a time of day when the heat's barely at a simmer. But still, more than 1,000 fearless—fearless of that heat—people converged upon downtown for the annual run and walk. The race, which started and ended at La Placita, took the hearty (and sweaty) folks on a loop through the city center.
