A topsy-turvy seaside extravaganza with Duff Goldman, Bobby Flay, Emeril and a bevy of star chefs

South Beach turned things upside-down this past weekend at the 10th annual South Beach Wine & Food Festival, where topsy-turvy aerialists, celeb chefs and carnaval dancers regaled food fanatics who enjoyed a smorgasbord of decadent bites and booze.
Against a gorgeous seaside backdrop, the fest put the "surf" in "surf and turf," as attendees gorged on mouthwatering vittles of all persuasions—from seafaring to landlubbing, sweet to savory. For four days, guests jammed seaside tents and hotel poolsides, scarfing down designer burgers, gourmet barbecue, belly-busting sweets and, oh, a kajillion tons of liquor.
Of course, it wouldn't be a food extravaganza without star chefs and food celebs, and South Beach served up heapings of them. Alex Guarnaschelli munched away with Art Smith. Rachael Ray partied it up with Morimoto. And Bobby Flay—well, just look for the biggest mob at any event, and you can be sure Flay was holding court.
How to survive the all this gluttony? Todd English had a clear battle plan: "I went for a five-mile run this afternoon, and I'm ready to go for another five-mile run right after this!"
