The Loft Cinema gives art house theaters a good name. A nonprofit since 2002, the folks who run this place understand that a balanced cinematic plate should have helpings of nourishing foreign and American independent features as well as tasty B movies. The long list of filmic notables who have spoken here ranges from Prince of Puke John Waters to Oscar-winner Philip Seymour Hoffman, and the theater also hosts an ongoing LGBT film series, free classic movies monthly, regular singalongs and the First Fridays short film competition hosted by Max Cannon.
