Landing a role like Marvel superhero Thor is a mixed blessing for an actor. On one hand you're all but guaranteed to carry a hit movie, on the other you've got fanboy armies ready and waiting to crucify you if you mess up. So it's a good thing strapping Aussie Hemsworth (previously seen in bit roles in "Star Trek" and "A Perfect Getaway") delivered such an endearing performance as the narcissistic interstellar god humbled by a banishment to Earth.
What's next for Hemsworth: More Thor in summer's superhero extravaganza "The Avengers" and eventual sequel "Thor 2"; starring opposite Kristen Stewart in fairy tale epic "Snow White and the Huntsman"; Ron Howard's Formula 1 drama "Rush"; two long-delayed releases (filmed prior to "Thor"): "Red Dawn" and "Cabin in the Woods."
