Not many superhero movies originate as indie film projects, but "Kick-Ass" isn't just any superhero movie.
Adapted from the cult favorite comic book by Mark Millar and John Romita Jr., celebrated for its violence and edgy attitude, "Kick-Ass" was a labor of love for director Matthew Vaughn ("Layer Cake," "Stardust"). It's proudly R-rated and features characters a lot more dysfunctional than Bruce Wayne or Peter Parker. It has also been the subject of intense buzz, especially online, since footage premiered at last year's Comic-Con International.
