Frog & Firkin

Salads often get a bad wrap among those who enjoy wheat hefeweizen more than wheat bread. But fear not, salads can be unhealthy too! For example, nobody would claim that Frog & Firkin's Elizabeth’s orzo, feta and sun-dried tomato salad ($8.25) is exactly a low-carb snack. For one, it’s smothered with pasta. And the dressing—a mix of sun-dried tomatoes and olive oil—isn’t really that great for you either. But, oh, it’s delicious. The brewpub also has a deal going on right now where you can order a similar salad (the Mediterranean holiday with orzo, chicken, mozzarella and artichoke hearts) with a Hoegaarden ale for $10.95, just for the doubters. And on weekdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., they feature a different salad for $8.95.
