Great Irish Stew Cook-off
Armed with the neccessities—scorecards and beer—Tucsonans gathered on the patio of Maynards Market & Kitchen March 8 for the inaugural Great Irish Stew Cook-off. Home chefs squared off against chefs from local restaurants, including Pat Connors of Pastiche, Albert Hall of Acacia, Addam Buzzalini of Maynards Market, Frank Santos of Frankie's South Philly Cheesesteaks, Mark Jorbin of Café à la C'Art and Travis Peters of the Cup Cafe. The categories: best Irish soda bread, best dessert, best corned beef and, of course, best Irish stew. Let the eating begin.
