Tapas
If the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, logic says your chances are better if he eats less. A humongous steak in his belly can only get in the way, clogging artery pathways and erecting barricades of fat.
If that’s true, why, then, do people so often insist on eating themselves to seclusion? Surely it’s more romantic to share something small than stuff yourself to oblivion.
Just ask the Spanish: They’ve been sharing small appetizers, or tapas, for centuries. Instead of ordering separate meals at tapas, they might split four or five dishes and try everything together. But it’s not just the Spaniards: European, Latin, Asian and even American restaurants have embraced the practice of smaller plates. It gives chefs a chance to show off their cooking, and brings your bodies closer for that heart-to-heart…conversation.—Andi Berlin/Special to Metromix
