Total of 6 friends agree to have dinner @ this place on a Saturday night. We waited about 30 minutes to be seated as this place is very small, understandable @ this point. As we started ordering our food and beverages, the service was getting worst and worst. I order about 3 different types of wines and they "ran out of them", the girl offered me a sparkling wine...didn't come after my meal was served and because I reminded her that I ordered that bottle. She came and dropped my friend's drinks and didn't see her for almost the rest of the night as somebody else brought our food. I had to get her attenton in order to bring us more water and iced tea. Food was ok but I've eatten way much better sushi at other places and this one was over priced for the type of sushi. We got our check and noticed that an 18% gratuity was included...for 6 people?!?!?!? SERVICE WAS HORRIBLE!!! I would've said something to the manager but by then we were at that place for over an hour because of the poor service! so I decided to pay for the meal and never go back there! So if you go make sure that you keep an eye on your server...there were about 10 - 12 tables at this place and about 4 servers...I think that is enough to get excellent service if your bill is going to be about $85!!! (for my husband and me). I will never recommend this place at all.

As the owner of Game On Sports Grille, we love our customers, and are proud of our food and the quality of our service. As hard as we try, there are times when we do not meet the expectations of a customer. We become very frustrated however, when a customer hides behind the shadow of the internet , and does not allow us to remedy the experience in any way we can. In the case of the last customer. We replaced his meal, offered him a refund, after we replaced his meal, and sent him in the mail a $25.00 gift certificate for a future use. Despite our efforts, he went to great lengths to try to hurt us under the cover of the internet. Fortunately, MAC, is a great minority. Game On Sports Grille has hundreds of loyal customers who know us, and understand how hard we try to provide a good experience. To all reading this, if there is something we can do to make your experience at Game On Sports Grille better, please let us know and we will do our best of accomodate you. Thanks, Jay and Kim

The Cereal Boxx is a great place to get any cereal on the go of course, but their full breakfast menu has my favorite thing on it- parfaits! All kinds of fruits, cereal and homemade granola, and strawberry or vanilla yogurt... as a college student I can't really keep all those ingredients all the time, so it is really nice to have a good place to go for it whenever i feel like!

TucsonHornyToad wrote about Native New Yorker
This is regarding the Native New Yorker on Courtney Page Way in Tucson. I went there with a group of guys for our monthly guys night out in December 2009. Our server was Blanche and she was very good. She was very attentive and courteous with just the right amount of dinginess (a show I’m sure) and not to mention very cute. She got a good tip. The food on the other hand was another issue. I ordered the Beef on Kummelweck as did another one of my friends. This was the most tasteless sandwich I have eaten since I was laid up in the hospital. Heck, my dog even spit it out and looked at me like I was a total loser for giving her such a tasteless piece of meat. My dog eats cat crap by the way, so she knows about flavor. My other buddies had similar opinions of their meals. (similar to mine not my dog) The food isn’t bad it just isn’t good. This was my third time visiting this restaurant with similar experiences on my previous two visits. I will probably be back because the beer was good (in a bottle) and I like the fun servers and big screen TV's. Maybe they should try adding some salt and pepper or other spices to add flavor, Tabasco only goes so far you know. This would probably be an excellent place to take your visiting friends from England to so they can enjoy a wonderfully bland piece of meat. Just like at home, spot on… Just kidding you Brits…

I guess some people do not understand the way sesame Ahi is prepared. Maybe you should do some more resurch on meal preperation if your going to try to make a story about the way thay are prepared.....
TwoBlueOceans wrote about Wings Over Broadway
Went there with my beau late on a Saturday, and loved it. We ordered the wing sampler with salads and beer for around $20. The wings were awesome, the salads were way better than I was expecting for a wing shop. I will say that I would like to see more variety of beer, especially on tap, but really that's about it for my list of grieviances. The place may not look like much, but the food is great. If you want a fancy building and tables this isn't it. If you want good wings then definitely give them a try!

This is a great place that I visit at least once a month! Their food is good, especially the Queso Fundido with Chorizo. And they always have beer specials. Its a neighborhood bar with a nice interior. Beer, food, and sports! The music can be annoying at times since it is such a small place. Definitely worth a visit!
ToniSLPC wrote about Bumsted's
I love Bumsted's. On my anniversary last year, my husband asked where I wanted to go--Vivace? Flemings (yuch)? Nope, I wanted to go to Bumsted's. I also invited fancy friends who had anniversaries within a day of ours, telling them that the desserts here are incredible. Problem? Our anniversary is December 28th. The management had given their bakers (a cop and his wife) the holidays off!!! So upset! The creme brulee cheesecake is better than anything you could get at Cheesecake Factory. And the pieces are huge. You'll think you can share but I guarantee that once you take a bite--you'll want the other half back. Try the Peanut Butter Cups, too. I really like the sandwiches at Beyond Bread and Bison Wiches--but they can't hold a candle to Bumsted's. Their meatloaf sandwich is phenomenal (7.95) They have it with cheese but why mess with perfection? Their meatball sub is garlicky and feeds two at 9.95. Their salads are giant, like their sandwiches. My husband was so amazed by the height of my roast beef sandwich that he had to take a picture of it with his phone. He carries the pictures of it, the meatball sub and the salad in his iPhone. The sandwiches come with your choice of chips or Funyuns (another yuch). But do yourself a favor and ask for a side order (on a plate of its own--you get more) of their french fried sweet potatoes. It's enough for two hungry people. Take the chips/Funyuns home for later. They've got a full bar. A large fish tank with very scratched sides. Fantastic wall photos of a growing family in Tucson (I never get tired of looking at them). Friendly, casual table service. Cool ladies' powder room. Biggest downside? Parking!! Hey, it's on 4th Ave! What do you expect? Used to have a parking lot next door that customers could park in when the shop that owns it was closed. Now they (the shop, not Bumsted's) charge $3.00 for parking. Hey, this is Tucson, not New York! We don't like to pay for no stinkin' parkin.' So plan on walking a ways, getting there like at 3:00 pm, or paying $3. It's not easy to find. It's a few yards north of 6th St., across from Dairy Queen and Magpies. I'm an old gray haired lady and I never get tired of the place. Oh, and a warning if you're bringing someone who's uptight about some things--some of the names of the sandwiches are at least PG-13 rated. You may have to explain what a "MILF" is. They should call their meatloaf sandwich a "SILF."

Our experiences have generally always been very good here including dealing with a very helpful gentlemen named Ernesto at the Deli. Tonight however was the coup de grâce that officially takes this restaurant off our rotation. We tried their newly added stone fired pizza which was decent until we discovered one of the toppings was a rubber band. Alright, I suppose it happens but when service merely shrugs it off and says sorry about that with no reparations whatsoever that is too much. We even gave management a chance to resolve this by politely mentioning it upon leaving after paying full price but they merely said sorry about that maybe next time we will get you some dessert. My initial thought was why not this time and I do not think it is unheard of to have a meal comped when you pull a rubber band out of your mouth. Service is very important to our dining experience and this was unacceptable. You have been warned.

I remember going to mexican food restaurants with my parents when I was very small. This reminds me of one of those places. The decor, the lighting, provide such a nostalgic ambience. You are definitely NOT in a chain. It's not "move 'em in...move 'em out kind of place. Mexican comfort food is here for sure! I found their website www.club21restaurant.com

My steak was just as ordered and my wife enjoyed her salmon. The salad was not only very fresh but an imaginative blend of veggies. The cheesecake topped it off. Both adults and family groups were made to feel at home. I suggest reservations. Once before we came without and couldn't wait as long as they predicted, but I apprecdiated their honest estimate and was anxious to try again on another occasion.

Charming and new, still getting settled out front, but the chef is fully up to speed in the kitchen! Tried a "Southwest S'More", and I WANT MORE! Just the right amount of heat, with smooth chocolat, graham crust, and a bruleed marshmallow top! Can't wait to try some of the other offerings in the case..it's much closer than Paris (and just as charming on a smaller scale). Any item would be an elegant addition to your table for that special dinner, or just because it's Monday! Price was lower than some "speciality markets" in the area as well, so stop by and treat yourself, soon! I may see you there, and I'll be bringing friends!
BillyClark wrote about Native New Yorker
I was recommended this place by a friend who, like I, enjoys hot wings. So the first time I went, I was with my wife and kids, who wont eat wings so I didn't get any. My wife had been there once already and commented how the service was extremely slow. It was shortly after they opened and figured they could have been busy or not staffed well enough so because of this I was willing to give the benefit of the doubt. Once again, the service was very slow, not just a little long on the food but enough to the point that we found ourselves asking " What is going on?" It must have been at least 30 minutes from the time we ordered to the time we received our food. I ordered a fish and chips basket. I think it was just under $10. The pieces of fish were nothing more than processed molded fillets that were all shaped similarly that you would expect to get from Jack In The Box or something. The side of slaw was literally about 2 bites worth of food and was probably the driest and worst tasting slaw Ive had in my life. My kids split a chicken planks basket and just like the fish, were all shaped the same, implying the same processed garbage you can get at any fast food joint for about half of the price. My wife had a burger and said it was OK. Our total bill was just under 50 bucks + tip, that was 3 meals, an appetizer and 4 drinks (no alcohol). Fast forward a few months. I was in Show Low a couple of weeks ago, and we were looking for a place to have a beer, a bite to eat and watch football. A local directed us to the Native New Yorker. I wasn't excited about the choice, but choices are slim in Show Low. So my brother and I ordered a large pizza with pep and sausage and i think the price of the pie was about $16. Once again, the thing took about a half an hour and it wasn't busy. The pizza came out and the pizza was thin, not a "thin crust" pizza, just cheap. The toppings were very skimpy and not very flavorful. Because of this we had no problem knocking down this thing between the two of us. The best way to describe it would be ordinary. It was food. Thats about it. It was not better than any chain pizza, including Little Ceasers, and even a DiGiorno or Freschetta would beat it hands down comparatively. If you want to pound a few brews, watch a game and munch some appetizers with your boys its an OK place I suppose. The atmosphere is fine and it's clean and there are lots of TVs. But if you actually WANT to eat something good at a joint like this head for a Chili's, Friday's, Applebee's ...anything else would be better!

mjensen9999 commented on Tucson's best: doughnuts
yeah, we heard about this $7 donut. last review we read before going to MA said, ooooh, it's so good and big. yeah, it's ok, fresh and all that and if you eat it yourself after a big meal maybe it's 'big', but don't kid youself, this is a high priced/over priced restaurant most of the $7 goes for overhead, but don't split this donut 4 ways. It's a freakin' donut, and not worth more than $1. Really

I've been dining at Mantis since I moved into Tucson 4 years ago. They have great food, large portions and excellent prices. I usually order one of their chicken, or beef dishes, but I've heard their seafood is great also. They have great lunch specials which comes with an entree, rice, soup, eggroll and crab cheese wonton (which are excellent), I always order a side of those with my dish. They do deliver as well, i think there's a minimum order (like 10 dollars) for free delivery. I would recommend this place to anyone. Try their Spicy Garlic Chicken Wings, they're out of this world!
